Please note however that the education at Alcott Manor is emphatically not about simply preparing for exams.

Nothing is quite as powerful as experiencing first hand the life cycle of the animal kingdom, helping children to appreciate the wonder of life, or marvelling at the wonder of electricity or the combustion engine. Transformative learning happens when children are excited, engaged and ready to learn.
LEARNING TO LIVE WITH OTHERS, LEARNING ABOUT FRIENDSHIP
For some children, being away from their parents is a transition which needs careful management, especially if they are on a pathway to a boarding school. Alcott Manor's residential experiences will help this transition as well as giving wonderful social opportunities and, well, lots of fun to go along with the hard work!

Hosting guests, holding polite conversation over drinks before sitting down for a formal Sunday lunch… Etiquette and manners, dressing and presenting to impress is all on the menu.
CULTURAL EXPERIENCES TO SAVOUR
Learning a musical instrument and practising poetry and drama is on offer during 1:1 tutorial lessons, as well as the opportunity to regularly see professional musicians and actors on the stage or concert platform. Concerts and theatre visits are also core elements of both Alcott Manor residentials and 1:1 support.
